Vinny: The mystery of the Shroud of Turin has been solved

November 15, 2013 8 comments

can anyone tell me what the digital DNA video is about?

imageHe has been bugging me for months to feature his material. I have asked him a couple of questions. I do that sometimes. I certainly don’t post every shroud-related video or blog posting that comes along.

I did feature him in 2011. In May of this year I posted The Worldwide Conspiracy to Ignore Vincenzo Giovanni Ruello. He is bugging me again, almost daily. So with no consideration to anyone here, I give you Vinny:

One recent message encouraging me to feature his website reads:

. . . You guys are the old crowd and the sooner you fade away from the Shroud the better for us all. I represent the new breed of researchers and my day is patiently coming. Ps your site Dan has turned into rotten tabloid journalism, anymore Hollywood movies to promote or disgraceful cheap books Dan, I once respected your site but now more and more I am seeing all these anti Shroud books and movies your promoting but your an Episcoplian arent you and I am not impressed with some of them as in your country they set up in my opinion fake Christian churches and marry gays. Print this but I think you may be a coward.

And another one read:

This is good though you probably hate me Dan ” How God Made The Shroud of Turin ” go on Dan it must be a slow day here I’m sure your fans will love ripping it to shreds and you too.

Oh, go ahead. It is only 27 seconds long. No there is nothing wrong with the sound on your PC. This is a silent film. I think it is supposed to be self explanatory. How could anyone rip this apart?

Anyway, here is his website where he tells us:

I am honored to be the first person in history to have discovered and revealed the actual miraculous and unexplainable images of Jesus Christ ALIVE in the Vatican Veronica Veil and the” second face “from the Shroud of Turin back. Have been involved in experimental research of film and video images since 1987 and have gained a vast amount of knowledge and expertise.

The mystery of the Shroud of Turin has been solved by my decoding of the Vatican Veronica Veil in 2011…it is the same man and face. . . .

Shroud of Turin Ads on my iPhone

October 20, 2013 Comments off

imageLet me see if I can net out a bit of information that may or may not be important to you. From USA Today on Friday:

Google’s stock jumped $122.61, or 14%, to $1,011.41 Friday . . .  Google is now the fourth company trading on a major exchange to have a stock price of $1,000 or more.

The reason behind Google’s stock’s latest move higher came late Thursday when the online advertising company reported a profit of nearly $3 billion during the third quarter, up 36% from a year earlier and exceeding estimates.

And in another story, also in USA Today, we learn:

The reason is a surge in mobile ads, which cost less per unit and have lower click rates than those served onto desktop computers.

So if you are searching for material about the Shroud of Turin on your regular computer you are not seeing the ads I’m seeing when I search on my iPhone. And who is advertising on my iPhone?

The first ad reads, “Distortion in Shroud image cleaned up, reveals clearest picture ever.”  You want to click in and watch the movie (any computer will do) for at least one and a half minutes. You will be doing so on the Urantia Book website. But before you click on the Donate button or buy the book, you might want to read some (just some) of the Shroud of Turin Report from this website. They have a somewhat different understanding of what happened:

The name Michael is used to designate Jesus in his status before incarnating on this planet and after his resurrection. The name of our Local Universe is Nebadon. The most senior “angel” in the administration of Nebadon (after Michael) is known as Gabriel. So, with regard to the spiritual beings that are involved in the spiritual administration of Nebadon, Gabriel was left in charge when Michael incarnated as Jesus.

[ . . . ]

At ten minutes past three o’clock,  . . . the chief of archangels—the angels of the resurrection—approached Gabriel and asked for the mortal body of Jesus. Said the chief of the archangels: “We may not participate in the morontia resurrection of the bestowal experience of Michael our sovereign, but we would have his mortal remains put in our custody for immediate dissolution. We do not propose to employ our technique of dematerialization; we merely wish to invoke the process of accelerated time. It is enough that we have seen the Sovereign live and die on Urantia; the hosts of heaven would be spared the memory of enduring the sight of the slow decay of the human form of the Creator and Upholder of a universe. In the name of the celestial intelligences of all Nebadon, I ask for a mandate giving me the custody of the mortal body of Jesus of Nazareth and empowering us to proceed with its immediate dissolution.

The long and short of it is this is how the Urantia Book folks believe the shroud image was formed. I don’t think I’ll donate.

As for the second ad, I think the odious description says it all: “A Forged Image of a Fake Jesus from the False Church.”  I say click on it a few times and waste their money. Every time you click they have to pay Google a fee. Oh, go ahead, click again.

It is a bit late to buy the stock. I laughed at the idea of Google when it was $85.

Colin Berry: The 1532 fire was no accident

October 17, 2013 35 comments

imageColin Barry has just updated his blog with a posting entitled No, the Shroud of Turin was NOT used to wrap Jesus. It was a 14th century thought experiment. It was not used to wrap anyone.

Safety Warning: Do not sip hot coffee while reading:

Here’s a comment I have just placed on Dan Porter’s site that updates my views on the Shroud of Turin:

[ . . . ]

I perceive the Shroud of Turin [is as] being in essence a thought experiment, imagining the effect of removing a victim, condemned to burning at the stake, while newly deceased but before substantial incineration, and placing in an up-and-over Shroud. The “hot” victim then leaves a scorch-like body imprint on both surfaces of the cloth. The end-result is/was intended as a visual and arresting metaphor – “Look – this is what they did to our blameless man, a latter-day martyr who suffered a fate comparable to that of Christ, i.e. false witness, followed by humiliating and excruciating public execution.

Evidence? It has to be circumstantial obviously . . .

Obviously! Or even a wild and weird flight of imagination:

The latter were almost certainly a signal to the viewer that the man depicted had been burned at the stake, that the burn holes were produced by hot charcoal falling onto the linen while still neatly folded, prior to being used to wrap the deceased. The midline fold that is needed to explain the symmetry of the burn holes (original ones– but later 1532 also) existed before the image imprinting in the case of the original L-shaped burn holes. The later 1532 holes, much larger, were a deliberate attempt to draw attention away from the earlier holes, not by patching (too conspicuous) but by swamping with new ones. The original holes were an embarrassment, you see, for those who wanted to re-invent Shroud Mk1 as Christ’s shroud, so much so that we see the original holes being represented as “blood” (red paint) on the 1516 Belgian (Lier) copy, for example, showing that copyist was clearly puzzled and/or confused by the L-shaped holes.

The 1532 fire (no accident, IMHO) removed that source of embarrassment at one fell swoop (though they had maybe forgotten or conveniently overlooked the ‘incriminating’ Lier copy).

I must not steal all his material – Colin does get so mad when I do that – so go read how the L shape of the poker holes may have been an intentional signal. I won’t give it away but do bear in mind that a certain someone was born in 1452 and died in 1519.

But of course he doesn’t mean that someone. Or anyone. I got it! Of course! What else? L is a signal to tell us how the blood will be applied at a later date: leeches.

Is the Shroud of Turin being hijacked by the wacko crowd?

August 13, 2013 Comments off

imageThis is old news from 2010. I wish it would go away. I wish L.A. Marzulli’s use  of the Shroud of Turin  to promote his video series would stop.  But the Internet has great power to recycle everything.

A couple of days ago, Lyn Leahz was promoting the following video on her “a born again, Spirit filled Christian author” blog. See if you can watch this entire 30 minute video without screaming, laughing or crying. There are a couple of very sane special appearances by Barrie Schwortz and Isabel Piczek beginning somewhere near the 10:48 mark. That’s fine. But, people being people, make unfounded associations. In the couple of minutes before Barrie and Isabel, in this preview of the Watcher Series: Biblical Answers For the Unexplainable–the Shroud of Turin, Torah Code and More, we hear some of the most twisted use of scripture ever invented. It is all muddled up with (don’t fall over laughing) human abductions by aliens in UFOs who,  today,  are only harvesting the souls of diminutive people rather than the giants they were getting back in Genesis 6. (Should it be “who” or “that” with non-human aliens — like with “robots who” or “machines who+ – remember we are talking about angels? Moving on . . .):

Some expert in the video:  You see, this is the only way they have to multiply their forces. Angels don’t reproduce. The Hybrids do

L.A. Marzulli:  Not only do these angels pollute the human genome, they conduct experiments on the animal kingdom and plants bringing chaos to God’s creation.

Pikes Peak Scary

July 11, 2013 2 comments

imageI recommend wearing a well grounded tinfoil hat if you are going to click on any of these links. In fact, you may want to wear it while just reading this morning’s snippets from DiscernIt: Hebrew Roots, the Nephilim, and the Shroud of Turin Come Together. (Gosh, I hope nobody finds out about this craziness.)

Picture of sign at Devil’s Playground at Pikes Peak

The 2013 Pikes Peak Prophecy Conference at the end of July will feature speakers including  . . .  L.A. Marzulli . . . The conference is sold out, and we probably shouldn’t be surprised. The featured topics, while hardly biblical, are exciting and seem to capture the attention of those who seek to be ever learning (2 Timothy 3:7).

In his 2/14/13 blog, L.A. Marzulli posted an article entitled, “Evolution or Hybrid? As in the Days of Noah…” in which he speculates about the meaning of a Chinese boy born with blue eyes.

You know what he is talking about, right?  Follow this proffered link. It is, well, well, you’ll see (or scary if you haven’t had your morning coffee).

Marzulli has laid down rules at his blog, saying “There are a few topics [Marzulli is not to] be challenged here [on the blog] since he’s a proponent or has colleagues who are strong proponents. Some of these are: The authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, the UFO phenomena, the Book of Enoch,” etc.

Whatever happened to “prove all things, hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21)?

Consequently, it is not surprising to see that the conference will “be arranging special two-hour tours of the Shroud of Turin Museum” along with “archaeological updates on the Shroud of Turin; the Lost Shipwreck of Paul; the Mystery of Masada and the Egyptian chariot wheels discovered in the Red Sea!”

Two previous postings from on this craziness:

1)  Like a Catholic Hippie Jesus

I got a lot of push back from Barrie, Russ Breault and others. And I reconsidered my position, somewhat. Now some folks of the off-beat crowd, very very off-beat crowd, are objecting.

You all may think I am strange with this one, but I knew the Shroud of Turin was phony within the same year I came out of the Catholic church. Take a look at this face… Long hair anorexic like an inverse of the Catholic "hippie" "jesus:….

2)  How ‘Ya Gonna Keep ‘Em Down on the Farm? After They’ve Seen Pareea:

Did we mention “new top-secret messages that will only be revealed at the conference by Doc Marquis and L.A. Marzulli.” Wow! Bring your secret decoder ring. Did this crowd have to discover the shroud?  Barrie Schwortz?

The Worldwide Conspiracy to Ignore Vincenzo Giovanni Ruello

May 20, 2013 45 comments

imageVincenzo Giovanni Ruello (aka Vinny Pop) writes to me frequently, usually by trying to add irrelevant comments on this site. He has, as he puts it, developed a new scientific method which enables him to see all manner of things: Jesus with open eyes, or Jesus with missing toes, etc. etc. etc. He then posts videos on YouTube that are supposed to show what he sees. Back in 2011, I posted some material about his claims but stopped doing so because I found that it contributed nothing to the discussion here (search Vinny in the blog’s search box). Moreover, I didn’t want to post anything more that I felt was potentially embarrassing to him. But today, at his insistence, I am posting a comment from him and below it something from a single-posting blog he recently created. He writes:

I have revealed the signature of Jesus Christ ,the face of a lion, a holograph from the second face back which has undergone a second stage processing.

I hope you show this as a special separate feature, if not it means you have no conscience at all

sincerely Vincenzo Giovanni Ruello

Okay, Vincenzo, I have a conscience. Thanks for unburdening me. Is it true, as I understand it, that your secret method is filming a severely tilted LCD screen with a digital camera? Why is it that I can’t see any of the things you see? How can what you see and others not see be proof of anything?

Vinny, does the following from you shed any light on the problem? It is from your new blog, Second Face Shroud Turin Decoded Revealed:

In 2011 the experimental film scientist Vincenzo Giovanni Ruello processed the relic known as the Vatican Veronica Veil using AFM, Angular Filming Magnification a process he developed in 2009, an advanced form of negative film processing. What he revealed is startling.

[ . . . ]

Well known Shroud experts who have seen the image have attempted to slow down the awareness campaign commenced by Ruello using tactics of ridicule because unlike them Ruello is an amateur experimental film maker not qualified. Peer review journals have refused to publish his findings on the Veronica for this very reason but Ruello has relentlessly distributed videos and photographs world wide. In April 2013 Ruello used the same filming tecnique to process the ”second face” originaly discovered in 2002 during the restoration by Fanti and Maggiolo. It appears on the back of the Shroud as red marks stains, very faint which are thought by many to be spill over leakage from the front. On processing the ”second face” Ruello revealed an alive Jesus with both His eyes open.

The profound image has left the earlier Shroud experts who discounted his findings on the Vatican Veronica Veil now speechless as the photographic image has been provan to be real, no elements of photoshop or CGI manipulation exist. So we now have the situation where an amateur film scientist has revealed 2 alive faces of Christ from the Vatican Veronica 8th century Rome first appearance and the alive face of Christ on the back of the Shroud of Turin. These Shroud experts are making a lot of money from the mystery they have been selling to the public. Many books are written and the Vatican  does gain immense power and control by not informing the innocent of all the facts.

. . .  But discoveries such as Ruello’s if truly from God cannot be stopped by corrupt soul selling individuals and powers attempting to not tell the world that evidence authenticating the Shroud has been discovered and that physical evidence of the resurrection has been discovered on the back of the Shroud of Turin. Thank God for the internet.

I suspect that I’m thought to be part of the conspiracy to keep the world uninformed about Vincenzo Giovanni Ruello’s work because I block frequent promotional comments of gibberish. Ridicule? That is why I wasn’t posting.

In all fairness I have written to him and asked him to describe Angular Filming Magnification and explain why he thinks he is not generating visual patterns and noise which fuels his imagination. He has never answered.

Okay Vincenzo, you got your wish.

Tinfoil Hats All Around, Quickly

February 16, 2013 2 comments

imageDr. Joseph S Maresca reviews Past Lives of the Rich and Famous by Sylvia Browne in Hearst’s Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

Browne discusses Elizabeth Taylor who lived 47 times before. Taylor was Anata of Babylonia. In the 1500s, she was a member of a Benedictine convent in Switzerland. She lived as Marie Lilliane and died at 89 years of age. Browne explains that specific memories of past lives are on the other side. But are they?

The story of Mother Teresa is equally fascinating. Browne relates how the Mother Teresa lived in the person of Leah during the time of Christ. Leah came to know Jesus Christ through the Apostle Luke. In addition, she attended the Sermon on the Mount. Mother Teresa lived through her 54th and last incarnation according to the author.

And there is this:

There may be remnants of Christ’s DNA on the Shroud of Turin. If DNA traces could be found on the Shroud of Turin, the DNA could be dated to the time of Christ. These aspects should be addressed by Browne.

Yeah, right,  that’s a good idea.

In addition, the crucifixion itself was an event bathed in blood. If blood stains could be recovered from Golgatha Hill, these stains could be used to create a Christ-like human form in the laboratory. The implications of this event would be very controversial for the Judeo-Christian world.

Ya think?

Browne’s notions could be put to the test in other ways. For instance, there would have to be specific burial plots of two people thought to have identical past lives. Samples of the DNA would have to be tested after exhuming the bodies. If the samples matched, the claims might be proven. Such an experiment would require the approval of medical science due to the ethical and moral issues inherent in conducting such tests.

Science? Fiction? Science Fiction? None of the genre’s quite fit, do they? What’s sad is this was published in a paper with an online circulation of 4 million people; and some people will believe this stuff.
