What hath the Templars wrought?
CNN is reporting:
(CNN) – Satanists have unveiled their design for a proposed statue at the Oklahoma state Capitol, including a place for people to sit on the devil’s lap "for inspiration and contemplation."
The New York-based Satanic Temple submitted its proposal to Oklahoma officials this month after applying for a spot on Capitol grounds late last year. The Satanists say their statue would "complement and contrast" with a Ten Commandments monument placed at the Capitol in Oklahoma City in 2012.
[ . . . ]
The statue’s main figure, Baphomet, has long been associated with Satan, Greaves said. In the 12th century, the Knights Templar, a group of Christian crusaders, were accused of worshiping Baphomet in their secretive rituals.
"From the mythology created by these accusations against the Templars, we now have a symbol for Satan pictured as a goat-headed beast," Greaves said.
Since the 1960s, a variation of the horned goat head has been the official symbol of the Church of Satan, which is not affiliated with the Temple of Satan. The head of the Church of Satan has told CNN he does not approve of the idea of a Satanist statue on public grounds.
Oklahoma state Rep. Paul Wesselhoft told CNN that he doesn’t think the Satanists’ statue will be approved.
Dan, come on, Barbara Frale knew about this decades ago, the last Templar Grand Master Jacques de Molay left Athens for France to discuss plans for a new crusade with Pope Clement VI, whose God was not Baphomet! That was when Philippe le Bel grabbed the opportunity to arrest all the Templars and snatch their moneybags because his treasury was empty. An innocent victim of the king’s greed and ruthlessness, de Molay asked to face Notre Dame when tied to the stake.
Louis, wait until you watch my response, I posted to Dan…
Of course she knew. It was a figure of speech. Sorry if I was not clear.
No need to apologise Dan. You were clear and I took it as a joke, only writing those comments just for those who may not know that bit of Templar history.
Great, I’ll wait,O.K.
The design for a proposed statue at the Oklahoma state Capitol has NOTHING to do with the head in semblance of baphomet Templar Knights were said to venerate. The word baphomet (my own etymology) comes from the Hebrew Ba-phéo-Emet, in Italian “é la bocca della verità”, “the word in his mouth is truth”. It refers (my own iconocryptology) to the Turin Shroud death mask-like/Holy Face of the Holy Mandylion-like/ Holy Face of Manoppello-like ancient marble mask with a hole in the mouth called “La Bocca della Verità”, The Mouth of Truth.
Or better said: it refer to La Bocca della Verità mask-like Turin Shroud Holy Face/Holy Face of the Holy Mandylion/ Holy Face of Manoppello/Holy Veronica.
The Knight Templars’ alleged idole in likeness of a Baphomet is a combination of both the Turin Shroud Face and the Holy Face of the Holy Veronica aka The Holy Face of the Manoppello Veil.
Archaeocryptollogicaly speaking, this is made pretty obvious when you make a comparative study of the two Holy Faces in light of the Bust of Christ depicted in the Templar oak panel from Templecombe.

“writers (e.g., MARTIALIS Martial) used the Greek word sindon in Latin (sindon, is) as early as the 1st century CE in accounts of very fine linen, silk and sea Byssus veil (= Manoppello Veil aka Holy Veronica aka Holy Mandylion). In 4th century CE Latin (e.g., Vulgata), the same word comes to also refer to the burial of Rabbi Yeshua of the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke = Linen Shroud). The (deliberate?) confusion between Mandylion (very fine Byssus veil) and Sindon (Yeshua’s burial cloth) would then find here its (philo)logical explanation.”
