We announced the upcoming meeting of the British Society for the Turin Shroud back in July. Now seeing that the meeting notice appears in Meetup.com, it is a pleasure to announce it again. The meeting will be Sunday, October 21, 2012, 2:00 PM To 6:00 PM in Beaconfield, UK and will feature:
- Thomas De Wesselow, author of "The Sign", will talk about the artistic problems attributing the Shroud to the Middle Ages.
- Denis Mannix, chemist, has been revisiting the material published on the Maillard reaction theory and will reveal the results of his investigation so far.
- David Rolfe will provide an update on the Dawkins Challenge and the Shroud-Enigma educational project.
You can RSVP online. To get the actual address you can “sort-of” join BTST online. I’m not sure what I was joining since I logged in via Facebook and provided no information whatsoever.
I’d love to attend the meeting but it is a long trip from South Carolina.
No need for games. The meeting is at St Michael’s Resource Centre, Grenfell Road, Beaconsfield HP9 2BP, about halfway between Oxford and London.
Given the agenda, this meeting seems very promising and new and interesting developments are sure to follow.
The venue is just two minutes walk from Beaconsfield Station on the Chiltern Line. By road, just follow the signs on the M40 to the Model Village which is in the same road. Please let me know if you are attending to ensure adequate refreshments etc.
