A website called Justification by Grace wants you to download a free special report, “The Shroud of Turin: Holy or Hoax”. The report runs 24 pages. Oh, and you are going to love the URL. It is lyingwonders.com.
Here are a couple of bullets from the summary page:
- Is the Turin shroud the burial cloth of Jesus Christ? Certainly not, if the Bible is truly the Word of God, then there is no way that the shroud can be true; and as we have seen, can only be explained as a deception of Satan, just as the Word declares.
- Why all this controversy surrounding this object? Satan attempts to bring doubt to God’s Word, and there are few surer ways to stir doubt than to raise controversy.
- The author wants your name and email address. It looks like you can use anything for an email address (if you are interested).
Fringe lunacy giving religion a bad reputation. No wonder so few get to hear the true message with this sort of thing going on. Yup! And did you know Satan planted dinosaur fossils to lead people away from Genesis? Some of it comes from Luther’s interpretation of Paul. But when Paul was talking about works being dead, he was referring to the old Jewish Law prescriptions. James has a different spin on works. But Luther didn’t like James either!
Sounds so inane, attempting to “prove” everything from the bible (or so it sounds), for it can “only be explained as a deception of Satan, just as the word declares.” I agree with daveb. I am unsure it would be worth the time it would take to read it.
Now that one of greatest mysteries on the planet has been debunked (in a mere 25 pages with lots of spacing between lines), I suppose I can move on now to something that can have real impact on people’s lives: starting fan clubs for Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen.
