imageIt has been almost five months since the last update of shroud.com and my last subscriber e-mail, so I wanted to bring you up to date on what has been happening here in recent months.

As you could see from my travel and lecture schedule (published in our January update), I have made five overseas trips in the past few months, which is why the website has been somewhat neglected. But a lot has been getting done anyway.

First and foremost, I am pleased to announce that STERA, Inc. is now available on Facebook and you are getting the exclusive first notice of this!

Feel free to post any comments or . We plan to use the Facebook page between website updates and subscriber e-mails to keep you abreast of any late breaking important Shroud news.

And speaking of news, I am thrilled to report that The Night of the Shroud documentary, directed by my dear friend Francesca Saracino (and in which STERA, Inc. played a small role), recently won top honors for Best Documentary, Best Director and Best Visual Effects at the Los Angeles Movie Awards! A graduate of the New York Film Academy, Francesca will visit the Universal Studios campus in Los Angeles on Monday, June 11, for a screening. The free event is open to all students, staff, and alumni in Welles at 7 p.m. Personally, I hope this important film becomes available soon in the U.S.  It takes the viewer behind the scenes of the 1988 radiocarbon dating and is based on newly uncovered and previously unpublished information. I have seen it screened in Rome and Valencia and highly recommend it as a "must see."

Our next update will go online in late August, and it will be a big one. Included will be a newly created page for the Valencia Shroud Conference (which took place in Spain this past April). The page will include a full report on the event along with a number of the truly excellent papers that were presented at the conference.

The new update will also include more back issues of the BSTS Newsletter, information on the latest Shroud books along with several book reviews, some additions to the Shroud Speakers Directory and the publication of a number of new Shroud related papers. I will also include a report on my recent travels,  a schedule of my upcoming lectures through the end of this year and much, much more.
