This, understand, is no small achievement. I mean, when you consider phonetics, learning to spell Scheifele and Byfuglien without consulting the 17 Wing Winnipeg media guy was a task of Herculean levels.
This wasn’t so much a training camp as it was a spelling bee. And, in the early going, every time I went to type the name Dustin Byfuglien, it came out Bufflyn of Bufflin. Because that’s how you pronounce it. Buff-lin. But that makes no sense to me. Byfuglien should be pronounced By-foo-glien, not Buff-lin. How you get Buff-lin out of Byfuglien is the greatest mystery since that face was discovered on the Shroud of Turin.
