So now we have dueling billboards. Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, a New York-based Catholic advocacy group has put up his own billboard. See a short video at CNN or read an account at Dueling billboards face off in Christmas controversy – CNN Belief Blog – CNN.com Blogs. I say watch the video, its not bad.
These billboards only cost about $1,000 per day. I say give the money to the poor and not look like a fool.
The Gothamist is reporting:
[A] Catholic man said he wishes the Catholic League didn’t get into this pissing contest. "It doesn’t need to be plastered on a billboard," said Michael Gerber. "I should be able to celebrate in my own way. And if it’s tit for tat, it defeats the spirit of Christmas."
The how-stupid-can-you-get line goes to American Atheists president David Silverman:
They stole our scene and copied what we’re doing.
