Why with the Shroud’s imagined teeth don’t we see any imagined roots?
Hugh Farey has written a helpful posting explaing why, as he puts it:
There are no bones or teeth imaged on the Shroud, and X-rays were not a contributory factor in producing the images.
I completely agree with Hugh. And BTW, if you have any interest in the Shroud of Turin, no matter your inclinations or beliefs, you should follow The Medieval Shroud : Exploring the medieval context of the Turin Shroud
In his posting, Hugh makes a very interesting point which I had never considered:
Those who think the teeth, usually coupled to the fingers, look like X-rays are almost always making a fundamental mistake. They only look like X-rays in a negative photo of the Shroud. The bones on an X-ray photograph look white because no X-rays come through them, so do not affect the emulsion of the plate capturing them. The dark area around the bones is where the X-rays impinge on the plate. The actual Shroud has dark areas where the bones are, but not around them or the body. If the Shroud were an X-ray in the normal sense, it would be dark all over, except for where the image blocked the rays, which would be unaffected linen.

When I post something about dematerializing — which I consider pseudo-squared-science — then Tom can discuss how it is that he knows what he knows and how he knows it so long as it is more than second-hand reports of conversations in Tibet.
The burial slab was not an x-ray machine taking a photo x-ray of the body. The crucified corpse dematerialized into packets of energy and the dematerialization began in the interior of the body. Dr. John Jackson once commented, “It is as if every pore and every hair of the body contained a microminiature laser.
The “stuff” the body is made of is “m”, which equals E/c**2. Jesus knew how to release “m” back into the “E” it came from. The image is the footprint of that portion of “E” which was of a wavelength that could not pass through the cloth. The practice of returning “m” to “E” is so prevalent in Tibet that the overlord Chinese have made it against the law. It is called rainbow body. Go to Tibet, mingle with the monks, talk to eyewitnesses, swoon in the high mountain terrain, marvel at the beauty the starkness produces, meditate in cavernous temples, visit their schools, talk to the practitioners, observe the great respect and devotion that is paid to adepts, tour the monuments that are erected in their name. Then you will believe.

Oh, dear! What can the matter be?
Dan Porter’s been absent, Monday to Saturday.
Why’s his site gone silent so suddenly?
Summin’ ain’t right – I declare!
A touch of the COVID in the family. Nothing serious. I’m working on a couple of posts now. Thanks for your concern; I appreciate it.
Sorry to hear your current family-based Covid-related problems, Dan.
Looking forward later to seeing your new postings.
(Having said that, I personally am now in onlooker/observer status only.
Why? Answer: for those “TIJ” – i.e.Totally-Internet-Jaded reasons I stated in a previous comment earlier).
