This beeped one of my iPhone apps:
Sophomores & Juniors today are watching the DVD, Jesus and the Shroud of Turin. It’s very good and objective. I recommend it to you all.
This got me thinking. This is a fairly old DVD by now. 1997 or so. But it is good. Can you still get it? Yes, at Amazon and several other DVD dealers. Search for it on Google by title.
Is it available for watching online? Yes! It is, on Veoh. You should be able to watch it right here by clicking the play icon below. Or click on “Jesus and the Shroud of Turin.”
The tweet was from Tom Perna, a high school teacher in Austin, Texas. Here is his Facebook page and his blog page.
This is actually a good ‘intro’ video to the Shroud, covering many evidences such as the recent history, pollen, blood, artistic renditions, even has a bit on the Sudarium. Dated yes, but still quite good. 480p is tops for quality though, I’ve viewed this video several times in the past on YouTube (full version).

Following my quest on the aragonite issue I have noticed than in minute 38 of this video they state:
“When the STURP team examined the underside of the Shroud they found out that some pollen grains could not be identified because they
were coated with a mineral. This mineral was subsequently analized and traced” (further on they say that it turned out to be Jerusalem limestone)
So, the samples that Rogers gave to Kohlbeck for further analysis -and provisionally identified as limestone&aragonite from Jerusalem- were taken from the underside of the Shroud? The limestone found was a coating layer of pollen grains? Or was also found alone?
Is this true? Can anybody give some light on this?
The Kohlbeck samples were taken from the image side, from the heel area of the image. I’ve mentioned before on here that other samples have been taken from the Shroud, what was mentioned above was one. The back of the Shroud, dorsal side; limestone dust was also found covering most of the area, this was also vacuumed off.
Ok, Ron, thanks for the info.
