BORING WARNING: Remember Nathan Wilson of Shadow Shroud fame – the shroud was made by painting a picture on glass and then using those pieces of glass as negatives to sun bleach an image into the cloth. Here is SD Smith telling us about Nathan being interviewed at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia.
“Kittens are killing machines,” he says. This is an excellent interview with author N.D. Wilson. Here is Wilson dismissing philosophers, dissing the Shroud of Turin, and expressing thankfulness for Harry Potter. Here are excellent insights for writers who are Christians.
Excellent insights if you are a Patrick Henry College style Christian (you can be dismissed from this college for expressing a belief in evolution).
I must admit I scanned thru the video quickly as it was ‘quite’ boring, but, I did view his reasoning for his disbelief that the Shroud is authentic. I have heard this argument several times before and it dumbbfounds me that people who seem not to be lacking in intelligence can make such a claim; That claim being, the Shroud does not match the description in the scriptures of what was found in the tomb that Easter morning. To that I say they are completely wrong!. The term used in John 19:40 was ‘Othonia’ which when properly translated means ‘cloths’ (plural), not strips or bandages just ‘cloths’. So it fits in well with what the apostles described when they peered into the tomb. Simply, they saw several cloths; one most probably being the Shroud, the other the Sudarium and as proposed by some; the strip of linen bound around the Shroud. There may have been more that have never surfaced or have been lost, which I would think would be probable considering most of his blood would have been collected by pias people, to be interred with the body…remember the scourging as one example~quite a loss of blood that would have needed collecting and also from the cross. So my point is, simply, any argument against the Shroud not agreeing with scripture is nonsense.
