Breaking news: unfortunately, while I’m writing,it appears that the fire is not at all under control and the entire destruction of the building is possible.
Notre-Dame is simply the heart of France and the most visited monument in the world (12-14 million per year).
Our heart is bleading…

Just one hour ago, the French President have said that Notre-Dame will be rebuild in 5 years (!).
And Notre-Dame will be more beautiful than ever.
This is an extraordinary challenge. But, with the help of the whole world, we will succeed.
Notre-Dame belongs to the heritage of humanity.

If the medieval structure of the building has not been damaged – this would be an unquantifiable disaster – only a part of the reconstruction of the 19th century by Viollet-le-Duc has been lost. It is not a great disaster, although those of us who love Paris are suffering to see the truncated silhouette of Notre-Dame.
But Paris is not just Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tour. We have to think that Paris has a thousand other wonderful things to enjoy. With or without the spire, Paris sera toujours Paris.
