So with the possibility of a major news announcement coming out of Turin soon, I went poking around in the Holy Shroud Official Site (Santa Sindone Sito ufficiale, copyright Diocesi di Torino). There has been a lot of improvements, good improvements. But there are still some shortcomings. To wit

  1. I typed in to www.sindone.org
  2. I clicked on ENGLISH
  3. I clicked on THE SHROUD
  4. I clicked on NEWS AND INFO
  5. I clicked on SPECIAL EVENTS

I kid you not, this is a copy of the page I received. 2010? Click on the image for a larger (1214 by 727) JPG view. Or just click on SPECIAL EVENTS for a live page.

imageSimple suggestion. Do away with all different language versions and implement Google Translate right into the HTML of the page. I’ll do it for airfare, seven days in a first class hotel and two bottles of 95 point Piedmont Barolo. Or get a local student to do it for 20 Euro and an icy mug of Birra Torino.
