Joe Marino writes to remind us of an October 14, 2009 Stephen Colbert piece about the shroud. Colbert, who is Catholic, mocks Luigi Garlaschelli’s attempt to reproduce the shroud. The shroud is real, he tells us; the Garlaschelli fake looks like Cher with a mustache.

First of all, for some reason the video seems to be unavailable!. Secondly, although I think Colbert’s comparison is humorous, it does not do justice to Cher’s beauty. Actually Garlaschelli’s reproduction always reminded me of the Gingerbread man. ;-)
