Thank you for reminding me of Tintoretto’s later Last Supper. By his vivid imagination he has given us a most entertaining scene to ponder. What is being served for supper? What is on the very small table in front of the main dining table? Are those mussels or clams or some sort of shellfish being served from a wooden bucket? How many disciples are seated at the table? That is a trick question. Where is Judas? How many servants are in the picture? How many angels hover about the ceiling of the room? How many clear glass decanters and how many goblets can be seen on the table? What is Jesus doing with one of his disciples? How long is the tablecloth?
