The shroud of turin is a large piece of cloth with an imprint of a crucified human being on it. Many people believe the imprint is Jesus and that the shroud (cloth) was the shroud that covered Jesus when he was crucified and put in the tomb.
For a while people believed it was a hoax but recent studies prove otherwise. They were capable of the most recent and most accurate form of dating (radiocarbon dating) to prove that it originates during a time period where Jesus would have died. Using modern forensic science they were capable of tracing pollen on the shroud back to Jeruselum.
One scientist found compounds on the shroud that was similiar to a type of paint, how-ever the other scientists who researched it debunked his theories by finding many other more reliable explanations than ‘paint’.- Edited 3 days ago

Its a pretty amazing mystery.
The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions believe to be Jesus of Nazareth. Is it really the cloth that wrapped his crucified body, or is it simply a medieval forgery, a hoax perpetrated by some clever artist? No one knows. Like another said, it is a medieval forgery by the Church to make people think that it is actually the burial cloth of Jesus Christ. That is all you ever need know about it. It has no mystical properties. It is not holy, and it is not the real burial cloth of Jesus.

The Shroud of Turin is the cloth that Mary used to cover Jesus’s body after he was put in the tomb. This was very common back then. The cloth has an imprinted blood stain from jesus’s face on it. So whatever the stain looks like, that’s what jesus looked like.
