What is the significance of the human remains found at Giv’at ha-Mivtar?
The 1968 archeological discovery of a crucifixion victim, named Johanan ben Ha-galgol, found near Jerusalem at Giv’at ha-Mivtar clearly demonstrates that crucifixion victims were nailed through the wrists. Some victims were in fact buried in ossuaries.
